Thanh Hoa (VNA) – The first stage of Nghi Sonsteel rolling mill was inaugurated at Nghi Son economic zone in the centralprovince of Thanh Hoa on October 23.

The work is also to celebrate the 19th Congress of theprovincial Party Organisation for the 2020-2025 tenure.

During the first stage, the mill has an annual capacity of 1million tonnes of steel billets, using technology provided by Daniely Group –the world’s leading firm major in metallurgy and steel manufacturing based inItaly.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the provincialPeople’s Committee Nguyen Van Thi said the project, invested by the Nghi SonIron and Steel JSC, has a total investment of 4 trillion VND alone.

From the second quarter this year, the mill will officiallygo into commercial operation, supplying steel billets and rolled steel meetingVietnamese and Japanese standards to the market.

The project is expected to generate nearly 2,000 jobs andcontribute about 1 trillion VND (43.7 million USD) to the provincial budget./.
