First Vietnamese vocational school receives European accreditation

The Lilama 2 Technical and Technology College has become the first Vietnamese school to be accredited as a member of the European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB).
The Lilama 2 Technical and Technology College has become the firstVietnamese school to be accredited as a member of the EuropeanAssociation of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB).

Underthe certificate of recognition granted on November 20, Lilama 2, basedin Long Thanh district, the southern province of Dong Nai, will offerinternational training programmes achieving the European QualificationsFramework (EQF).

After graduating, students will receive Germany’s qualifications accepted in 100 countries around the world.

Fromthe 2014 academic year, the school provides seven majors, includingmetal cutting, electronic engineering, industrial engineering,industrial electronics, welding, and telecommunication and opticaltransmission techniques, said Le Van Hien, Rector of the College.

Lilama2, one of the first Centres of Excellence for Technical and VocationalEducation and Training (TVET) in Vietnam, has a total investment of 30million ERU (37.6 million USD) funded by the German and Frenchgovernments.

Besides, the college coordinated with Bosch VietnamCompany to carry out a pilot dual training programme of Germany for 46Vietnamese students to meet higher demand for skilled workers.-VNA

National, local traffic safety committees to be dissolved from June 1
