Foreign Ministry: Vietnam recovers economy during, after COVID-19

Vietnam has adopted synchronous policies and measures to recover its economy both during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, Vice Foreign Ministry Spokesman Doan Khac Viet has said.

- Vietnam has adopted synchronous policies andmeasures to recover its economy both during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, ViceForeign Ministry Spokesman Doan Khac Viet has said.

During the ministry’s regular press conference in Hanoi on May 28, Vietsaid Vietnam has controlled and repelled the pandemic via drastic and effectiveaction despite complex developments in the region and the world, thus laying animportant foundation for strengthening trust among domestic and foreign investors.

He made the statement in reply to reporters’ questions about the factthat a wave of foreign investment is moving from China to elsewhere, withVietnam being one of the most promising destinations.

Apart from effective counter-measures, he said, the VietnameseGovernment has consistently followed a policy of boosting socio-economicdevelopment to improve economic resilience.

Vietnam is maintaining supply chains, promoting domestic trade and services andthose between Vietnam and other countries, continuing to improve its businessclimate by slashing corporate costs and administrative procedures, and developinginfrastructure and logistics.

It is also actively realising free trade agreements with partners and addressingdifficulties faced by investors, including creating the conditions necessary forexperts and highly-skilled workers to work in Vietnam while ensuring safe andeffective pandemic prevention and control, he said./.

State bank launches tool to facilitate green finance

Vietnam backs ASEAN’s strategic approach to economic resilience, partnership

Vietnam vows continued close coordination with ASEAN and partner countries to identify cooperation opportunities in potential areas of mutual interest, including effectively leveraging the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA 3.0) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) to address current challenges and work towards a transparent, stable, and fair international trade environment.
