Former officials of Vietnam Social Security, Quang Ninh province expelled from Party

The Party Central Committee’s Secretariat has decided to expel former leaders of the Vietnam Social Security (VSS) and the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Education and Training from the Party for their wrongdoings while on duty.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Party Central Committee’s Secretariat has decided toexpel former leaders of the Vietnam Social Security (VSS) and the Quang Ninhprovincial Department of Education and Training from the Party for theirwrongdoings while on duty.

TheSecretariat made the decision during a meeting held on September 28 under thechair of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Basing onproposals submitted by the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission andopinions given by relevant Party organisations, the Secretariat held that whileserving as Secretary of the Party unit at and General Director of the VSS,Nguyen Huy Ban and Le Bach Hong seriously violated the Party’s regulations andthe State’s law on the use of the social insurance fund, causing greatfinancial losses to the State. They have been imprisoned for “deliberatelyviolating the State’s regulations on economic management, causing seriousconsequences.”

Meanwhile, as a member of the Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee, and Secretaryof the Party Committee at and Director of the provincial Department ofEducation and Training, Vu Lien Oanh was held responsible for this Party committee’s violations and shortcomings in itsleadership and directions over the building and implementation of workingregulations. She lacked sense of responsibility and let law violations occurduring the implementation of some investment projects in the 2015 - 2019 period.The investigation police agency under the Ministry of Public Security launchedan investigation into Oanh and put her into temporary detention for “violatingbidding regulations, causing serious consequences.”

The Secretariatsaid the violations committed by the three were “very serious”, causing greatfinancial losses to the State, negatively affecting Party organisations’prestige, and stirring public concern. Given this, they must receive strictdisciplinary measures in line with the Party’s rules.

Basing onthe Politburo’s Regulation No 102-QD/TW, issued on November 15, 2017, theSecretariat decided to expel Ban, Hong, and Oanh from the Party./.
