France Year in Vietnam closes, in music and light

The France Year in Vietnam was declared a success at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh on December 13, with thousands of locals gathering to enjoy an impressing performance of music and light.

In hisremark at the ceremony, French Ambassador for Foreign Policy andPresident of the French Institute Xavier Darcos said the 150 events heldthroughout the past year have manifested the ability of Vietnamese andFrench partners to work together for the best results.

Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son noted that the year has broughtVietnamese and French people a better understanding of each other’shistory, culture and arts as well as of the potential of political,economic, science-technology, education-training cooperation between thetwo nations.

With the recent establishment of the strategicpartnership, the successful France Year in Vietnam and the VietnamYear in France have helped paint a vivid picture of the thrivingVietnam – France relationship, he said.

As part of theyear’s final activities, the Museum of HCM City put on display 74black-and-white and colour photos by Vietnamese and French photographersLe Vuong and Sebastien Laval. They depict the lives of 54 Vietnameseethnic minority groups since 1980.

Earlier, Chairman of themunicipal People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan hosted a reception for XavierDarcos, during which the two sides shared the view that the pastactivities during the year will help propel the Vietnam –France tiesfurther.-VNA

Project on digital transformation in cultural sector approved

By 2030, the project targets the establishment of shared digital platforms across 100% of cultural sectors. All digitised cultural heritage will be standardised under the national data framework and shared in accordance with regulations, while 80% of public digital heritage assets are expected to receive digital identifiers to clarify ownership and management, encouraging organisations and individuals to do the same and support market development.
