French dance artist has passionate love for Vietnam

With a passionate love for Vietnam, French dancer Emmanuel Vincent, who is married to a Vietnamese-Belgian man, has choreographed many dances that reflect the lives of the Vietnamese people. Her dances have received an enthusiastic response from audience members and are highly valued by art critics.

In this single dance from “Variant”, a woman wears many face masks so that no one can recognise her. The dance is inspired by the daily lives of Vietnamese women.

Emmanuel was trained in dance and theatre. Having a strong love for Vietnamese culture, she began to perform traditional Vietnamese dances a decade ago.

Emmanuel choreographs dances for the Truong Son culture-art group of the Vietnamese community in Belgium, of which her parents-in-law are members.

She also has a great passion for Vietnamese cuisine.

Together with Truong Minh Thi Nguyen and Pierre Larauza, Emmanuel is a member of the “Coi xay sinh to” (Blender) art group. They have also joined various cooperation projects with Vietnam.

The French dance artist has given instruction and support to Vietnamese students taking on internships in Belgium.

She hopes the COVID-19 pandemic will be brought under control soon so that she can return to Vietnam and carry out new art projects./.
