French, Thai PMs to discuss trade opportunity

French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault is set to meet with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra during his official visit to Thailand, beginning on Feb.5.
French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault is set to meet with PrimeMinister Yingluck Shinawatra during his official visit to Thailand,beginning on Feb.5.

According to Director-General of theDepartment of Information and Spokesperson of the Foreign MinistryManasvi Srisodapol, the French PM arrived on February 4 in his privatejet. He said the talks between the PMs will include a wide range ofmutual cooperation, such as aviation, high-speed train project, energy,banking, and economic partnership.

He further revealedthat trade between Thailand and France in 2012 was worth 4 billionUSD, while French foreign direct investment (FDI) in Thailandreached of 370 million USD.

Accompanying Jean-Marc Ayraultwill be lead 36 French leading entrepreneurs to discuss trade andinvestment opportunities with the Thai PM. -VNA

Indian airline launches direct Mumbai–Hanoi route

The new route operates four flights a week and is the first direct Mumbai–Hanoi service operated by an Indian airline. Hanoi has become Akasa Air’s seventh international destination and its second destination in Southeast Asia, after Phuket, Thailand.
