More than 110 businesses from 18 countries and territories will participate in an international exhibition of garment manufacturing equipment and materials, to be held in Hanoi from November 10-12.
During the exhibition, businesses from countries with a developed textile industry such as France , Germany , China , India , Italy , Japan , the Republic of Korea , Malaysia , Singapore , Sweden , Switzerland , Thailand and the Netherlands will introduce their latest products, equipment, technologies and services in the garment sector.
At a press conference in Hanoi on November 8, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Garment & Textile Group (Vinatex) Le Tien Truong said the exhibition offers a chance for domestic garment businesses to engage with foreign producers, equipment and materials providers, helping the garment sector to gradually integrate into the region and the world.
According to Vinatex, the garment sector is a leading exporter in Vietnam , with a turnover of 9.1 billion USD in the first ten months of this year, equivalent to the 2009 figure. The turnover is expected to reach 11 billion USD this year, 500 million USD higher than the yearly goal.
Together with increasing exports, the Vietnamese garment sector is speeding up its domestic market development strategy with a planned annual growth of 30 percent in the coming year./.
