Hanoi(VNA) – The "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups- Vietnamese Cultural Heritage” week2021 will take place at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture andTourism in Hanoi from November 18 to 23, according to the Ministry of Culture,Sports and Tourism.
The event is also tomark the 91st anniversary of the traditional day of the Vietnam FatherlandFront (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2021) and the 76th anniversary ofVietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 1945 - November 23, 2021).
Activities during theweek contribute to promoting the cultural identity of 54 ethnic groups inVietnam in the implementation of the "All people unite to build culturallife" movement, protecting cultural heritage values and building anadvanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity. Besides, theorganising board wishes to arouse the spirit of solidarity of the whole nationand promote the good traditions of the nations, spreading the spirit of mutualaffection and love for the homeland and the people of Vietnam.
This is also an activity to introduce the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and TourismVillage after it was temporarily closed for COVID-19 prevention and control.
The highlight of theevent will be the opening programme and exhibitions to promote investment in thevillage. In addition to theregular activities of the 13 ethnic groups at the village, there will beperformances of traditional musical instruments of the Mong ethnic group andthe Spring Festival (Nao pe chau), afestival of the Mong ethnic group.
Afterbringing their harvest home in December, the Mong put all work aside to celebratethe Naope chau festivalwith a line-up of cultural activities such as blowing khen, typical bambooflutes of the Mong ethnic minority people, blowing Vietnamese bamboo flute andother folk games. During the festival, families and villagesgather together to show their gratitude to their ancestors and Gods forsupporting them to have robust crops and peaceful life./.
