Hanoi inflation slows in September

Hanoi's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.2 percent in September against last month – a 21.74 percent increase over the same period last year, the Hanoi Statistics Office announced on Sept. 20.

However, the rise was the lowest this year, the office said; adding thatthe price of seven out of 11 commodities used to calculate the CPIwitnessed an increase in September.

Most of those goodsthat went up in price rose by less than 1 percent, with the remainderrising by more than 1 percent – including gold.

Meanwhile,restaurant prices dipped by 0.02 percent. The price of food dropped by0.34 percent (rice fell by 0.26 percent), after several consecutivemonthly rises, but the cost of catering went up 1.02 percent.

The price of rice was stable because supplies in the north met demand this month.

In the first nine months, the CPI in Hanoi rose year-on-year by17.76 percent because of the rising cost of goods and services thisyear, said the office. However, the CPI growth rate has slowed sinceJune.

To control price rises and ensure social security,Hanoi authorities have provided loans worth 475 billion VND (22.8million USD) to stabilise the cost of essential goods./.

Vietnam advances in building, using migrant labour data system: workshop

Data presented in the report reflects effective migration governance in recent years. The average recruitment cost paid by migrant workers dropped by 23.8%, from 164.9 million VND (6,400 USD) in 2021 to 125.7 million VND in 2025. Conversely, average first-month earnings abroad rose by 25.4%, increasing from 22.4 million VND to 28.1 million VND.

Vietnam steps up trade, investment promotion at China-ASEAN Expo

According to the CAEXPO Secretariat, Vietnam will once again lease an entire exhibition area of about 3,000sq.m, featuring 170 booths, making it one of the ASEAN countries with the largest exhibition spaces at this year’s event. Six groups of products, services proposed at Vietnam International Financial Centre

Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc said the products and services include investment funds and asset management, asset-backed digital assets, international carbon credits, commodity trading and derivatives infrastructure linked to trade and supply-chain financing, financial technology, and bonds issued at the centre. As these groups are at different stages of readiness, they will be rolled out in phases rather than simultaneously.
