Hanoi, Japanese firm partner in developing smart city

The Hanoi People’s Committee, BRG Group and Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation signed a cooperation agreement on developing Nhat Tan-Noi Bai urban project with total investment of more than 4 billion USD, aiming to build the most modern smart city of Southeast Asia in the north of Hanoi.

Tokyo(VNA) – The Hanoi People’s Committee, BRG Group and Japan’s SumitomoCorporation signed a cooperation agreement on developing Nhat Tan-Noi Bai urbanproject with total investment of more than 4 billion USD, aiming to build themost modern smart city of Southeast Asia in the north of Hanoi.

The deal wasinked on June 5 in Tokyo during Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s ongoing visitto Japan.

Earlier, the BRGGroup signed with the Sumitomo Corporation, one of the three largest enterprisesof Japan, to develop the project in April. The BRG also chose P&TConsultants to provide consultancy for the project.

Totalconstruction area of the project is 2,080 hectares along both sides of the VoNguyen Giap road, including four main sections with a length of 11.7km.
