A record number of people will sing and dance together in the name of peace and love at My Dinh Stadium Square on October 7 for a programme called Hay Cung Hat Vang (Let's Sing Along).
The event will open with popular songs by famous artists such as Dam Vinh Hung, My Linh, Uyen Linh, Ho Ngoc Ha and My Tam, followed by a communal dance.
The project was announced on Aug. 12 with the intent of creating a common ground for people of all ages and backgrounds to join in a place where love is nurtured and peace is praised, said organising committee representative Vu Anh Long.
"We estimate that 100,000 people, including the disabled, will gather at My Dinh Stadium Square to sing and dance together to build a society of solidarity and love," Long said.
Meetings and training are underway for volunteers and supporters to prepare for the event, he added.
The project will also support various cultural activities this year such as Hanoi Carnaval on August 25-26 and a 3D photo exhibition on Hanoi on August 30-September 4.
The project is being sponsored by the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations. It is expected to be the biggest community event in the capital city this year, and the organising committee hopes to make it an annual event to send a message to the world of love and peace from Hanoi, recognised by UNESCO as a city for peace.-VNA
