Hanoi to host Aerobic Gymnastics Asian Championships

As many as 316 athletes from 14 Asian countries and territories will compete at the ninth Aerobic Gymnastics Asian Championships, scheduled for June 8-10 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation said on May 29.

Hanoi (VNA) – As many as 316 athletes from 14 Asian countries and territories will compete at the ninth Aerobic Gymnastics Asian Championships, scheduled for June 8-10 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation said on May 29.

The gymnasts, from Australia, Cambodia, Taiwan and Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, India, Iran, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, and host Vietnam, are divided into three age groups of 12-14, 15-17 and over 18, competing in 18 categories for 68 sets of medals. The Vietnamese team consists of 17 coaches and 51 athletes.

The tournament will offer a chance for the capital city to popularise its unique cultural traits and tourism potential to international friends.

Vietnamese gymnasts grabbed three gold, three silver, and a bronze medals at the eighth edition in Ulaanbaatar in 2023./.
