Hanoi’s CPI increases by 0.12 percent in April

Hanoi’s consumer price index (CPI) in April rose 0.12 percent against the previous month, a year-on-year increase of 6.27 percent.

The biggest hike was seen in the groups of garment and footwear with 0.44 percent.

It was followed by catering services, up by 0.32 percent; beverages and cigarettes, 0.3 percent; household commodities and equipment, 0.25 percent; and transportation, 0.26 percent.

Meanwhile, the prices of medicine and healthcare services, education and entertainment and tourism services rose between 0.03-0.05 percent.

Out of the 11 baskets of commodities measured, only the group of housing, electricity, water, fuel and building materials decreased for three consecutive months to 1 percent in April.

The drop was attributed to a reduction in the price of petroleum and gas from the early days of the month.-VNA
