The Thang Long Water Puppetry Theatre in Hanoi has entered in the Asian Book of Records as the only Asian theatre performing water puppet shows all 365 days of the year.
Established in 1969, the theatre had since 1990 restored water puppet shows, allowing monthly, then weekly and daily performances for domestic and foreign audiences.
Since almost guided tours around Hanoi included a show at the Thang Long Water Puppetry Theatre, it stays open all year round.
The theatre has also introduced the traditional art form to more than 50 countries across the world.
Alongside the Thang Long Water Puppetry Theatre, two other Vietnamese representatives were also named in the Asian Book of Records this time, namely PhD Le Van Tri, for owning the largest number of invention certificates on biology, and the Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Vietjet Air), for offering the largest number of cultural activities on flight, in Asia.-VNA
