The 10th ASEAN Council on Petroleum (ASCOPE) conference & exhibition entitled “Innovation and Cooperation – The way forward” will be held for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City from November 28-30 next year.
Being hosted by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), the event is expected to showcase 300 booths and welcome 500 delegates, said PVN General Director Do Van Hau at a press conference in Hanoi on July 18.
Hau noted that the event offers ASEAN oil and gas companies a chance to tighten cooperation with their partners in the region and the world. In addition to 10 ASCOPE members, the event will also see the participation of big groups from the Middle East .
It is also a venue to share the latest information about ASEAN oil and gas industry, including state-of-the-art technologies and equipment in the field, Hau added.
Vietnam became a member of ASCOPE in 1996. The council was established in October, 1975. The conference-exhibition is organised every four years. The previous ASCOPE event took place in Thailand .
The council groups ten petroleum companies from the ASEAN countries, namely Brunei National Petroleum Company, Cambodian National Petroleum Authority, Pertamina from Indonesia, Department of Electricity, Lao Ministry of Energy and Mines, Petronas Oil and Gas Company from Malaysia, Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise, Philippines National Oil Company (PNOC), Keppel Corporation from Singapore, PTT Oil and Gas Company from Thailand and Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group.-VNA
