HCM City to host int’l athletics tourney

he participating countries include the Republic of Korea, Thailand,Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia and the host Vietnam.

Among the best Vietnamese hopefuls are Vu Thi Huong, Truong Thanh Hang,Nguyen Dinh Cuong, Le Ngoc Phuong and Duong Thi Viet Anh who areexpected to bring good results as this event is an important test tochoose players for the ASIAD Guangzhou 2010.

At apress conference on July 15, Nguyen Trung Hinh, deputy chairman of HoChi Minh City Athletics Federation said that the 16-year-old tournamenthas been recognised by the Asian Athletics Federation as an officialcompetition since this May./.

The festival featured more than 20 booths offering traditional Vietnamese dishes, including "pho" and spring rolls, alongside activities promoting Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditonal long dress).
