HCM City to welcome Lunar New Year with special festival

A Tet (Lunar New Year) festival will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from January 18-21 with a range of special activities honouring Vietnamese culture and food.

HCM City (VNA) – A Tet (Lunar New Year)festival will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from January 18-21 with a range ofspecial activities honouring Vietnamese culture and food.

The municipal Department of Tourism and the VietnamCuisine Culture Association (VCCA) said on January 11 that apart from artperformances and Tet spaces, the festival will feature more than 100 boothsdisplaying various products.

Festivalgoers will have chances to engage inexchanges with artisans and famous figures.

Le Thuong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of theDepartment of Tourism, said the festival will offer an opportunity forbusinesses to introduce their products and services, serve as a channel toconnect HCM City with other cities and localities, and help promote trade,tourism, and culture in the new period.

VCCA Chairman Nguyen Quoc Ky noted that the eventaims to promote the love for culture and national pride among youths, and tolure more international tourists to Vietnam and the southern metropolis inparticular.

HCM City continued to take lead nationwide in termsof the number of visitors and revenue from tourism last year, with nearly 5million foreign and some 35 million domestic holidaymakers, and a total revenueof over 160 trillion VND (6.6 billion USD), according to the tourism department./.

Vietnam's 35-strong squad announced for ASEAN U23 Championship 2025

The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.
