The court of Cambodia’s capital city, Phnom Penh has announced that a hearing to judge Sam Rainsy, the President of the Sam Rainsy Party, will take place on August 6.
The court is dealing with Sam Rainsy’s second lawsuit.
Sam Rainsy was accused of falsifying public documents and spreading groundless information related to national borders which aimed to prevent the Cambodian government’s border demarcation and marker.
Early this year, the court of Svay Rieng province sentenced Rainsy to two years in prison for damaging state property and inciting racial discrimination.
The court also ordered Rainsy to pay 60 million Riel (around 15,000 USD) in fines./.
