Hennessy concert to present famous operas

Opera extracts from world-renowned composers will be presented to Vietnamese audiences at the 15 th Hennessy concert, to be held at Hanoi Opera House at 8pm on April 22.

On the show will be extracts of famous operas such as “Nguoi tho caothanh Seville” (The Barber of Seville) by Rossini, “Manon” by JulesMassenet, “Nhung ngu dan dao Ngoc” (The Pearl Fishers) by Georges Bizetand “Faust” by Charles Gounod.

The show will bebroadcast live on a huge outdoor screen at August Revolution Square,honouring the art of Italian and French opera with performances fromFrench soprano Noral Amsellem, Mexican tenor Fernado de la Mora, Chinesebass Hao Jiang Tian and pianist Katherine Chu.

Organised for the first time in 1996, the annual Hennessy concert bringstogether international artists of classical music to Vietnam, offeringthe public a chance to enjoy classic works by talented composers fromall over the world./.

The Vietnamese delegation comprises 496 members, including athletes, coaches, experts, officials, doctors and medical staff. The teams will depart in several groups depending on their competition schedules, with the largest group expected to leave on September 16.
