Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held a ceremony in Hanoi on March 29 to announce Herbalife Vietnam Nutrition Company as the official sponsor of Vietnam’s national football teams, following their partnership from 2021-2024.
Herbalife Vietnam has embarked on a journey to support Vietnamese sports through comprehensive cooperation with the Vietnam Olympic Committee and the Vietnam Paralympic Association since 2012. In July 2013, the company officially sponsored nutrition for the Vietnamese sports teams competing in the 27th SEA Games in Myanmar. In April 2021, it became the major nutrition sponsor of several national football teams of Vietnam.
Vu Van Thang, General Director of Herbalife Vietnam and Cambodia, said the deal between VFF and Herbalife Vietnam affirms a long-term, comprehensive partnership goal for the development of Vietnamese football, thus promoting a dynamic and healthy lifestyle within the community.
Apart from providing high-quality and science-backed nutrition products to support the national team's physical fitness and endurance in training and competition, Herbalife Vietnam also commits to financial support for certain activities of Vietnamese football sector, he said.
This year, the Vietnam national football teams will compete in major international tournaments such as the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia, the 2024 AFC U23 Championship Qualifiers, the 19th ASIAD and the Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship. Especially in July, the Vietnam national women's football team will for the first time compete in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023. Junior teams will join youth football tournaments within the regional and continental competition systems, said VFF Secretary General Duong Nghiep Khoi./.
