Ho Chi Minh City to host international culinary festival

An international culinary festival “Taste of the World 2016” is slated for December 15-18 in Ho Chi Minh City, luring the participation of 17 countries and 45 food businesses in the city.

HCM City (VNA) – Aninternational culinary festival “Taste of the World 2016” is slated forDecember 15-18 in Ho Chi Minh City, luring the participation of 17 countriesand 45 food businesses in the city. 

Themed “Multi-sense cuisine”, this year’s eventwill bring more interactions to visitors, said Nguyen Thị Anh Hoa, Deputy Headof the municipal Department of Tourism.

The event is expected to help participants gaininsights into diverse culinary cultures of countries in the world, she added.

The festival offers a diversity of signature dishesfrom different countries such as India, Thailand, Turkey, France, Malaysia andItalia, among others, through on-site food making activities.

Other activities at the event include theintroduction of traditional culinary villages and Vietnamese coffee,participating countries’ wine promotion, food art photographic exhibition. Amini festival of “five-star” chefs will take place during the event.

There will a common house showcasing specialtiesof 24 localities and honouring culinary artisans in Ho Chi Minh City.

Participants will also have a chance to meetMasterchef Vietnam 2013 Ngo Thanh Hoa, attend a Korean food teaching programmeas well as compete in a cooking challenge.
