The consumer price index (CPI) in Ho Chi Minh City increased 0.24 percent from last month, the municipal Statistics Office reported on February 21.
It marked a surge of 4.37 percent over the same period last year, the office said.
The food and restaurant service group saw the highest rise of 0.76 percent, while apparel and footwear products recorded the lowest increase of only 0.02 percent.
Housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials experienced a decline of 1.49 percent and the medicine and health service dropped 0.01 percent compared to the previous month.
The price remained unchanged in the group for education and telecommunications service.
In February, gold prices saw a rise of 0.31 percent against the previous month while USD prices fell 0.07 percent.
