The “I Love My Fatherland” journey will comprise seven stages linked to historical, cultural and revolutionary sites across the country. The journey will begin in Nghe An on May 16 to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday, before continuing through Hue city, Tuyen Quang–Lung Cu Flag Tower, Dien Bien, Khanh Hoa, Ca Mau and Ho Chi Minh City, and concluding in Hanoi in October.
Reports at the conference showed broad participation and tangible outcomes, with more than 5.6 million young people taking part in volunteer activities, and over 51,000 initiatives registered.
Vietnam’s 10 outstanding young faces of 2025 were honoured in Hanoi on March 25, 2026 at a ceremony held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund.
Initiated by Party General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong and Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping during the Vietnam-China friendship meeting in April last year, the activity is run by the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) and coincides with the 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) (March 26).
The 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – March 26, 2026) marks not only a proud historical milestone but also an occasion to reflect on the dedication, growth and contributions of generations of Vietnamese youth. Under the Party’s leadership, the Union has continuously grown into a pioneering force across all fronts, from production and study to innovation and national defence.
The initiative on restoring and digitising portraits of Heroic Mothers and martyrs across Ho Chi Minh City not only helps safeguard valuable historical records but also highlights the creativity and volunteer spirit of young people in applying technology to meaningful community projects.
The initiative “Bringing youth members to traditional theatres” has become a flagship model of the ministry’s Youth Union in recent years, helping popularise traditional arts among the public, particularly younger generations, and contributing to the implementation of the Politburo’s cultural development orientation under Resolution 80.
"We have grounds to expect that Vietnam’s youth will continue to write new chapters of the nation’s glorious history in the language of today: the language of knowledge, creativity, responsibility, and the relentless aspiration to rise and excel," wrote Party leader To Lam.
Huy emphasised that Vietnam’s new development phase requires rapid yet sustainable growth, mastery of science and technology, and enhanced innovation and digital transformation. In this context, young people are expected to play a pioneering role, and the youth union must strengthen its guidance and support mechanisms.
Following the flag salute and the screening of a documentary revisiting the Party’s proud history, the event continued with a coordinated online communications campaign. Youth members simultaneously scanned QR codes to install a custom-designed phone wallpaper themed “Vietnamese youth welcome the 14th National Party Congress”.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested Party committees, authorities, agencies and units at all levels to nurture and create favourable conditions for young union members to develop comprehensively, entrust them with responsibilities, provide opportunities for contribution and maturity, and effectively implement the Vietnam Youth Development Strategy for the 2021–2030 period.

The Golden Globe Science and Technology Award aims to honour young Vietnamese scientists under 35 who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in science and technology.
The young Vietnamese, both at home and abroad, were encouraged to join efforts to support residents in flood-hit areas to soon stabilise their lives and resume livelihoods, thus helping children return to school early.
The volunteers will be in charge of guiding delegates, distributing essential supplies at Ba Dinh Square’s grandstand area, supporting citizens along parade routes, managing storage facilities, transporting supplies, assisting with social order and environmental protection, and helping to welcome domestic and foreign delegations.
His story is a vivid testament to the determination, resilience and aspirations of the younger generation in the era of integration, as he strives to expand his knowledge and contribute to the community.
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union launched a digital communication campaign titled “I love my country” on August 8, harnessing the power of social media to promote patriotism among citizens as the country prepares to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
Vietnam officially joined the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP) in 1996, one year after its accession to ASEAN. The programme offers a unique platform for Vietnamese youth to broaden their horizons, sharpen their skills, and present a dynamic, forward-looking image of the younger Vietnamese generation to the international community.
Themed “Global young Vietnamese intellectuals contribute to the nation’s advancement into a new era,” the sixth Global Forum for Young Vietnamese Intellectuals created a multi-dimensional dialogue platform where young intellectuals shared ideas and jointly outlined new directions in key areas such as science and technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, education, health care, smart agriculture, climate change, and digital transformation.
The sacrifices and contributions made by generations of youth volunteers over the past 75 years in the struggle for national independence and construction remain a shining example for today’s youth.
