Quang Ninh (VNA) - Pham Thuy Trang from northern Hoa Binh province was crowned Miss Sea Vietnam 2016 on the final night of the pageant held in Ha Long city, in the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh on May 21.
The beauty, born in 1995, with measurements of 86-60-90 and 170cm tall, overcame 35 other contestants to win the title, earning her 200 million VND (8,960 USD) in cash and a crown worth 1.5 billion VND (67,275 USD).
The first and second runners-up went to Nguyen Thi Bao Nhu from Ho Chi Minh City and Nguyen Dinh Khanh Phuong from central Khanh Hoa province.
The jury also presented awards for other categories including Miss Swimsuit, Miss Ao Dai, Miss Hospitality, Miss Talent, and Miss Evening Gown.
The pageant was co-hosted by the Phuong Nam Design and Training Co., Ltd, the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh province, and VTV News.
Themed ‘Spreading Vietnamese Beauty’, the pageant honoured not only the beauty of Vietnamese women but also the grandeur of the nation’s seas and islands.
Launched in March, the contest attracted nearly 100 contestants, 36 of them entered the final round in Ha Long.
During their stay in Ha Long, the finalists participated in charitable events as well as social activities to improve the environment and contribute to promoting Vietnam’s sea culture and tourism industry, particularly in Quang Ninh province.-VNA
