The nine-day Festival Hue, from April 12-20, was a big feast of art andmusic, with 2,600 artists and performers, including 595 foreign ones,doing their best to entertain visitors.
Addressing a press briefing in Hue city, the central province of ThuaThien-Hue, the chief of the festival’s organising board and ViceChairman of Thua Thien Hue People’s Committee, Ngo Hoa, said 66 arttroupes from 37 countries staged 170 performances at 15 venues in Huecity and 10 other sites in the province.
Hestressed that the participation of the art troupes helped turn HueFestival into a major cultural event at national and internationallevel, while highlighting the characteristics of the ancient imperialcity.
In addition, more than 50 cultural eventswere held, covering a diverse range of themes, from rural markets of theold days, ancient Vietnamese villages to pet bird shows, human chessgames and book fairs.
At the press briefing,the organising board also took note of opinions and feedbacks on how tofurther improve the quality of festival activities.-VNA
