Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni on September 23 signed a royal decree appointing Hun Sen as the Prime Minister for the new government.

The decree, which took effect on September 23, required the Prime Minister to prepare the members of the Cambodian government in order to ask for the adoption of confidence from the National Assembly.

The new parliament of Cambodia is to elect the leadership of the legislative body and vote on the cabinet on September 24.

The 61-year-old newly-appointed premier vowed to do his utmost to fulfill his responsibilities for the interest of the nation and people.-VNA
