Huyen Tran temple festival opens in Hue

A festival to commemorate Princess Huyen Tran and King Tran Nhan Tong opened at Huyen Tran Cultural Centre in the central city of Hue on February 17.
A festival to commemorate Princess Huyen Tran and King Tran Nhan Tongopened at Huyen Tran Cultural Centre in the central city of Hue onFebruary 17, the eighth day of the first lunar month.

The two-day festival is being jointly organised by the provincialDepartment of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Executive Board ofVietnam Buddhist Sangha and Dat Viet Tourism JSC. It attracted thousandsof Buddhist monks, nuns and followers, and visitors from all over thecountry.

After an incense offering ceremony, a broadrange of activities took place, including folk games, ancient martialarts, calligraphy and artistic performances.

Thefestival was held on the occasion of the 673 rd anniversary of thedeath of Princess Huyen Tran, who had devoted much to the nation’sexpansion southwards./.
