Hanoi (VNA) - Le Tuan Minh of Vietnam brought home a silver medal from the Laos International Open Chess Tournament which closed on recently in Vientiane.
The International Master Minh scored seven points after nine matches. He took home a 1,500 USD bonus in cash. The winner was Grandmaster Grigoryan Kare of Armenia who bagged 7.5 points.
IM Duong The Anh of Vietnam came third with 6.5 points.
The first ever tournament in Laos lured 68 masters from 15 countries with a total purse of 10,000 USD.
Vietnam sent 12 competitors to the event and six of them were in the top 20.-VNA
