Domestically-assembled cars overwhelm imported vehicles

Automobile sales in Vietnam up 9% in July
Auto sales in Vietnam in July increased 9% from the previous month to 28,920 units, the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) announced on August 13.
May auto sales inch up 6%
Vietnam’s auto sales in May increased 6% from the previous month to 25,794 units, as dealers rolled out stimulus measures to spur consumption, according to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA).
Vehicle import triples in early June
The import of vehicle surged in the first week of June and most of the imported cars were from Thailand, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
Automobile sales drop 7 percent in September
The Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association on October 10 reported that automobile sales in September drop 20 percent compared to the same period last year and 4 percent over the previous month.
New car expo opens in Hanoi
