 Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia’scounterterrorism police arrested two Islamic State linked militants whoallegedly planned bomb attacks at prominent places in Jakarta, including the MyanmarEmbassy and government buildings.

A spokesperson for the IndonesianNational Police, said Bahrain Agam was arrested on November 26 in Blang Tarakanvillage in the northernmost province of Aceh for providing 7 million rupiah(520 USD), planning to make a bomb and purchasing explosive materials.

Saiful Bahri was arrested onNovember 27 in Baros village in Jakarta’s neighbouring province of Banten forhelping Rio Priatana Wibana build a bomb-making lab and planning attacks, thespokesperson added.

Previously, Rio was arrested onNovember 23 by the anti-terror squad at his house in Majalengka district inWest Java province with a large amount of explosives.

He was accused of providing bombsto be used in attacks on foreign embassies, including the Myanmar embassy, theparliament building, the national police headquarters, television stations,cafes and religious places, said the spokesperson.

According to police, the militantshad enough explosives to make bombs two times as powerful than those used inthe 2002 bombing in Bali that killed 202 people.-VNA
