Indonesia has cancelled the plan to apply restrictions of public activities (PPKM) Level 3 at national scale.
Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia has cancelled the planto apply restrictions of public activities (PPKM) Level 3 at national scale.

According to Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs andInvestment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, COVID-19 situation in the country hasconsiderably improved and the pandemic has been put under control.

The daily count has maintained at below 400, while 76percent of population in Java-Bali have received the first COVID-19 vaccine shotand 56 percent has been fully vaccinated. Alongside, the vaccination on theelderly has been sped up.

With the positive signs, the PPKM will be applied in a morebalanced manner in the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays, he said,adding that the restrictions will be imposed in different levels in each areadepending on the pandemic situation.

Meanwhile, on December 7, Laos reported 1,378 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours in18 provinces, along with four deaths.

According to Laos’ Ministry of Health, the number ofinfections rose 489 cases compared to the previous day, with 238 additionalinfections found in the community.

As of December 7, the country recorded 82,082 cases, including 214 deaths./.
