The Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ 8 th Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crimes (AMMTC-8) opened in Bali , Indonesia on Oct.11.
Attending the meeting were the host country’s Vice President Boediono, General Secretary of ASEAN Surin Pitsuwan, leaders of the police force and the counter-transnational crime agencies from ASEAN countries, China , Japan , the Republic of Korea .
The Vietnamese delegation led by Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang attended the meeting.
During the meeting, delegates will deliberate cooperative contents in the framework of AMMTC-8 in the time to come as well as cooperation between AMMTC with ASEAN Dialogue Partners (ASEAN+3 and ASEAN-China)
They also will focus their discussion on cooperation in anti-terrorism when the ASEAN Convention on Counter-Terrorism (ACCT) comes into force and the enhancement of cooperative effectiveness in fighting against human trade in Southeast Asia .
The delegates are scheduled to approve the Joint Declaration and the report of AMMTC-8./.
