Indonesia and Myanmar signed three bilateral economic cooperation accords in Nay Pyi Taw on April 23.
The signing came shortly after talks between Myanmar President U Thein Sein and his visiting Indonesian counterpart Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
The signed documents include a framework agreement on investment and trade and two memoranda of understanding on cooperation in human resource development and on rice trade.
During talks, the two sides vowed to make efforts to raise their bilateral trade to 1 billion USD by 2014.
In 2012, the figure reached 391.08 million USD, of which Myanmar ’s export revenues to Indonesia were 40.37 million USD.
Yudhoyono is on a two-day visit to Myanmar at the invitation of his Myanmar counterpart U Thein Sein. The Myanmar President visited Indonesia in May 2011, which marked his first overseas one soon after he became the president on March 30 of the year.-VNA
