Hanoi (VNA) - The Indonesian Manpower Ministry is ready to support the deployment of green jobs in the country towards sustainable development in the 2025-2029 period, according to the ministry's secretary general, Anwar Sanusi.

Green jobs are unavoidable, and it is a high priority, he said, adding that the workforce should also keep up with the nature of a green job.

According to Sanusi, green jobs are a symbol of a sustainable economy and society with their ability to preserve the environment.

Green jobs will also be able to open new job opportunities, such as in the field of manufacturing pollution control devices installed on existing production equipment.

To support the creation of green jobs, the Ministry of Manpower will encourage companies to implement green productivity-based tools, techniques, and productivity improvement methods, he said, noting that one of the approaches is to prepare work competency standards, competency schemes, training programmes, and modules in accordance with the needs of green jobs.

He went on to say that the ministry will strengthen partnership forums with companies, industries, and institutions supporting vocational training in green jobs./.
