Jakarta (VNA) – The Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) has announced that it will soon set up a “China Desk” in an effort to further entice more Chinese investors to invest in the country.

The desk, operated by a Chinese-speaking staff, is expected to address issues that have hindered potential Chinese investors, such as slow responses on land inquiries and language barriers.

The rapid growth of Chinese investment in Indonesia requires wide-ranging assistance, said Franky Sibarani, Head of the board.

In 2015, investment realisation from China increased 14 percent from 7 percent per year during 2010 to 2014.

Investment commitments also doubled to 22 billion USD last year, from an average of 11.3 billion USD per year in the five-year period ending 2014.

Hong Kong ( China ) made an increase in investment commitment to Indonesia to 3 billion USD in 2015, from an average of 2 billion USD per year from 2010 to 2014.-VNA
