Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia has launched an action plan for the development of environmentally friendly aviation fuels or Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) at the 2024 Bali International Airshow (BIAS).

Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan affirmed that the BIAS is an evidence for Indonesia’s commitment to realise its goal of developing sustainable aviation and aviation fuels.

Indonesia is a leading producer of SAF feedstocks, particularly palm oil. It is facing global challenges and strategies to promote those fuels as a sustainable resource. Thus, Indonesia has brought together global experts to share insights and collaborate on shaping the future of these important sectors.

Discussions at the BIAS are the leading platform to promote business-to-business interactions and facilitate strategic partnerships in the aerospace and defence sectors. The airshow will also assess the challenges and opportunities in meeting the growing demand for SAF as these industries move towards net zero emissions by 2050./.
