Indonesia will establish an ASEAN journalism centre with the aim of helping regional journalists enhance their professionalism.
The centre will be placed in Palembang, the capital city of South Sumatra, according to Head of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Margiono.
The idea to establish a facility providing professional training for journalists from all ASEAN member states was initiated by the PWI Executive Board and the Secretariat of the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists (CAJ).
The PWI will inform details of the plan to the CAJ’s General Assembly at its upcoming meeting which is slated for November 21-15 in Manila, the Philippines.-VNA
