Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu and his US counterpart James Mattis on January 23 discussed bilateral defence cooperation.
The two sides also discussed intelligence cooperation that the US established with its allied nations, and the agreement on military and information cooperation, as well as military equipment purchase, maritime security issues and counter-terrorism cooperation between the two countries.
On January 22, Mattis met with Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, during which Marsudi expressed Indonesia’s viewpoint on international issues.
During his trip to Indonesia which runs until January 24, Mattis is scheduled to meet with Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto. - VNA
