The choir troupe PSM Unpar Tabela Harati from Indonesia has won theGrand Prize of the 4 th International Vietnam Choir Competition hostedby the German Interkultur and the city of Hoi An, central Quang Namprovince.
During the award ceremony held in Hoi Anon May 2, 41 gold and 12 silver medals were presented for 13 events insix categories.
International groups in theirtraditional costumes took part in a parade through main streets of thecity after the ceremony.
Held between April 29 andMay 3, the competition attracted the participation of 45 choirs from 15countries worldwide who have competed in six categories: male choir,female choir, mixed choir, chamber choir, sacred choir and folklorechoir.
This is the third time Hoi An hosted the event since 2011.
Hoi An City is a tourist hot spot famous for its renowned historic old town and long beaches.
In 1999, the old town was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCOand hailed as a well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading portfrom the 15th to 19th centuries, with buildings that display aunique blend of local and foreign influences.-VNA
