Indonesian firm plans investment in Vietnam

Indonesia’s State-owned coal miner PT Bukit Asam have planned to invest in thermal power plants in Vietnam while expanding cooperation in coal mining and supply with the country.

Indonesia’s State-owned coal miner PT Bukit Asam (PTBA) have planned to invest in thermal power plants in Vietnam while expanding cooperation in coal mining and supply with the country.

PTBA President Director Milawarma said the company sold 500,000 tonnes of coal to Vietnam in the first half of this year and met with representatives of the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade to discuss its investment plan in the country.

PTBA saw promising opportunities for coal export as well as investment in Vietnam, he noted.-VNA
