Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesia’s 2018 crude palm oiloutput is set to climb by 4-6 million tonnes from last year to 40-42 milliontonnes, said an official from an industry association.
According to Togar Sitanggang, Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Palm OilAssociation (GAPKI), this year’s output will be better because of replantingseen in the private sector, which will give better yields.
Indonesia is the world’s largest producer and exporter ofpalm oil, the most widely used edible oil in the world found in everything frommargarine and cookies to soap.
Palm oil output usually rises in line with seasonal factorstowards the third and fourth quarters of the year.-VNA
