International artists to perform at Italy-Vietnam concert

The Embassy of Italy in Vietnam, in cooperation with the IBLA Foundation, will organise a concert on March 16 at the Hanoi Youth Theatre.

Hanoi (VNA) - TheEmbassy of Italy in Vietnam and the IBLA Foundation will co-organise a concert on March 16 at the Hanoi Youth Theatre, as part of celebrations for the 45th anniversary of diplomaticrelations between the two countries.

Young, talented musiciansfrom Italy and other countries, who have been awarded the prestigious IBLAGrand Prize, will perform a selection of iconic pieces from Italian andEuropean classical composers, such as Rossini, Cimarosa, Schubert, Brahms,Liszt and many others.

Piano, flute, guitar andaccordion will guide us along an original journey through the beauty of musicin order to celebrate the Italian - Vietnamese friendship.

The artists include guitarduo Robert Guzik and Adam Woch (Poland), pianist Kai Han (the US), pianistTamara Licheli (Georgia), accordionist Ghenadie Rotari (Moldova) and pianistValentina Vargiu (Italy).

IBLA is the name of an ancientbaroque enclave, in the hilltop UNESCO World Heritage site that sits below themore modern centre of Ragusa.

The IBLA Grand PrizeInternational Music Competition is an annual music competition open to allinstruments, vocalists and composers with a focus on classical music.

The competition aims tonourish the career of the winners by offering a large international performanceexperience.

This competition isdifferent from most other music competitions in a way that there are no roundsor prizes such as a first and second prize, and competitors are judged againstthe international standard of high quality performances rather than competing againsteach other. From that perspective, there could be one, or many winners,depending on the performance quality level expressed by contestants.
