More than 100 professional and amateur performers from local art troupes, and foreign embassies and cultural centres joined the “Chao nam moi 2015” (Welcome 2015) art performance on February 13 in Hanoi.
They showed off folk dances and songs and musical performances from Indonesia, Russia, Japan, Palestine, and Vietnam celebrating the Lunar New Year (Tet), Vietnam’s largest holiday, during the night.
The event saw the presence of Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations Vu Xuan Hong, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Le Hong Son, and representatives from embassies and international and non-governmental organisations in the city.
Son said the gathering was held in honour of international “friends” who have been supporting the administration and people of Hanoi and with the aim of strengthening the friendship between Hanoians and friends across the globe.
He warmly wished his guests a happy Lunar New Year.
