The Malaysian cabinet on April 23 approved the establishment of an international investigation panel to look into the missing of the plane performing Flight MH370, according to Malaysian acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein.
He said the main work of the body is to evaluate, investigate and determine the actual cause of the incident so similar incidents could be avoided.
The minister also added the Malaysian Government is discussing the expansion of the search area in southern Indian Ocean with Malaysian state oil firm Petronas and other entities.
On the same day, the Joint Agency Coordination Centre said some unidentified objects were found on the coast 10km east of Augusta in the south of Australia’s Perth city.
Malaysia Airlines’ flight MH370 disappeared on March 8 when carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members. All search efforts have failed to find the ill-fated jetliner so far.-VNA
