Violist Rina Matsuda is to performthe Violin Concerto composed by P. I. Tchaikovsky of Russia, afavourite work of all leading violists in the world. She will alsoperform Symphony No. 3 by Austrian composer Anton Bruckne.
Rina Matsuda was born in Yokohama, Japan, in 1985, andbegan violin classes at 3 years old.
She graduatedfrom solo training courses at the Tokyo National University of FineArts and Music and has continued higher education at the NuernebergConservatoire, Germany, where she has received a certificate forperformance granted by the German Government.
TheJapanese violist has won a number of prestigious prizes bothdomestically and internationally.
Conductor SeikyoKim was born in Osaka, Japan, and began playing piano at the ageof three and violin at seven. He moved to the US at 14 and later on toEurope for education. The Japanese talent won the first prize at acontest for international young conductors in Lisbon, Spain, inJuly, 1996. His career saw a turning point in May, 1998 when he won thefamous Nicolai Malko Competition for Young Conductors in Copenhagen,Denmark./.
