The Japanese Government has decided to provide 120 million USD for a project in Vinh Phuc province to help the northern midland province improve the investment climate.

The ODA funding, channelled through the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), will help build a key road in the heart of a new metropolis in Me Linh district and expand the systems of water supply, sewage and liquid waste treatment in Vinh Yen city.

The project will also finance the upgrade of a power grid network in Phuc Yen township and improve the provincial competence in managing and attracting investments as well as providing supportive services for investors.

The provincial administration has so far managed to meet the deadlines in ground clearance as well as commitments to financial contributions, thus ensuring the construction of several subprojects such as water works to kick off on schedule by 2011.

Once completed, water works in Son Dong village, Lap Thach district, and Viet Xuan village, Phuc Yen district, will provide safe water for tens of thousands of local families in eight villages of several districts in the province./.
