Tokyo (VNA) – The Japanese government is working to collect detailed information related to the recently concluded second summit between US President Donald Trump and Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) leader Kim Jong-un, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga has said.
In a press conference on February 28 afternoon, Suga affirmed that Japan continues coordinating with the US in seeking solutions to denuclearisation, ballistic missiles, and Japanese abductees.
Japan will maintain its close relationship with the US, he stressed.
Regarding a phone call between Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and President Trump, Suga stated that both sides are arranging an appropriate time for the phone call.
The second DPRK-USA Summit took place in Hanoi on February 27-28, during which a number of issues were discussed, but no joint statement was issued.-VNA
