Japan to transfer rice processing technology to Vietnam

Satake, one of Japan’s leading corporations that specialises in producing food processing equipment, has announced plans to transfer its rice processing technology to Vietnam’s An Giang Plant Protection Joint Stock Company (AGPPS).

AGPPS, which is known as the leading provider of seeds and plant protection products in Vietnam, will receive equipment and technical assistance from Satake during the four processing stages of drying, polishing, assessing and managing rice quality.

According to Japan’s Nikkei Newspaper, after receiving Satake’s technology, AGPPS will be able to independently manufacture modern dryers and produce organic germinated brown (GABA) rice which is beneficial to consumers’ health.

Located in Hiroshima, Japan, Satake Corporation is a multinational company that focuses on manufacturing equipment for the processing and sorting of agricultural products such as rice, grains and beans. It was founded in Japan by Riichi Satake in 1896.

It plans to transfer its technology to rice processing companies in Asia as the region is considered the world’s major rice producer.-VNA
