At the working session, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Mai Tien Dung introduced the delegation to fields where the province wants to attract investment, including support and high-tech industries.

Advantages in geographical position and transport infrastructure coupled with the abundant workforce of the locality will facilitate the operation of investors, Dung said.

Speaking of Japanese businesses’ investments in the province, he affirmed that Ha Nam always welcomes and continues prioritizing Japanese investors, especially small- and medium-sized enterprises and those operating in the support industry.

The province is investing in building infrastructure of the Dong Van III industrial zone which prioritises the support industry and will hand over land to businesses in early November, he added.

The delegation’s head, Watanabe Naofumi, said that Japanese enterprises have appreciated Ha Nam’s investment environment including its investment attraction policies and infrastructure.

Enterprises currently visiting Ha Nam are mainly operating in paper and steel production and machinery manufacturing and would like to receive the province’s assistance in recruiting workers, he added.

There are 10 countries and territories investing in Ha Nam with nearly 130 projects totalling 1.1 billion USD. Among them, Japan ranks first in terms of investment capital with 447.5 million USD.-VNA
